I’ve just read the result of questionnaire that ask both of Korea and Japan if they have a good relation. The result was very slanted.
More Korean people don’t trust Japan than Japanese do Korean. 80% of Korean answered they don’t trust Japan, while Japan trust Korea by about 50%. Personally, since I have a lot of friends in Korea I was surprised at the news. But it also seem to me a reasonable effect.
I think one of reasons why many people still have such bad impression toward each is caused on web. When you see the internet, you find many of unreasonable abusing comment on blogs, youtube, and whatever. It is clear that those people do not stand strongly on their political positions but just follow others. This is exactly like childish acting. I have seen many comment like; "this is because they are stupid Korean" "Korean have never grown up". I really want to say face to face "Have you ever talked to Korean?" "My friends from Korea and I really are fucked up by you!!"
And there is another thought. You have to learn history but sometimes you don’t have to consider it and just try to make friends anywhere.
